fun things from the past two weekends..

It's been a few weeks since I've updated (mainly due to being busy &/or in bed sick), so there hasn't been too much excitement going on around here..just recovering :)

Last Saturday afternoon was spent rootin' on the Pack!

So glad they pulled off the W, but the wind & rain I could have done without...hence the "in bed sick" part mentioned above. Once we got home Saturday night I was frozen to the bone! Matt got the house nice & toasty for us & I was fast asleep :)

After church Sunday, Matt & I visited my Grandma. She hasn't been doing well lately. She has lung cancer which has affected her breathing alot lately & she's also experiencing dementia. She has good & bad days, but lately the bad seem to be outweighing the good..so please keep her in your prayers.

..can't wait for this to be a daily routine!

By the time Tuesday rolled around, I was going through the puffs, sudafed & robitussin (the few meds I can have I am forever grateful) & by Thursday I was back to work...still sounded horrible, but I felt much better!

We also celebrated 18 weeks this past Monday :) Almost to the 1/2 way mark...can't believe our lil' punkin has grown that much! According to Babycenter.com ~ Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead.
FYI: They alternate using he/she every other week.

Now to this past weekend...
Friday evening Matt & I decided to give the ol' Mule Days a try & headed to town to check things out :) We started out at El Charro's (the local mexican restaurant) where we saw the cutest lil' cowboy in his hat & cowboy boots! After getting to the point of almost miserable from eating so much, we decided to walk it off & headed to the grove. We made it to the food vendors where I found me some cotton candy & of course, a candy apple :) We didn't stay very long (mainly cause I had to pee), but it was nice to go for a bit & enjoy the nice weather while it lasted :)

Saturday afternoon Ms. Connie stopped by the house with Gage after they left the Mule Days parade! He had a horse painted on his face :)

Sunday afternoon Matt & I met the family at the RBC Center for the 2011 Heart Walk! My stepbrother, Keith, has battled a heart condition since birth & has had to undergo multiple open heart surgeries. We walked to help raise money for heart research! There was a wonderful turnout & they raised over $900,000!!

This week marks the official start of Autumn!! I took a few pics of some fall decor around the house. I'm so ready to stock up on pumpkins & mums for Fall :)

I love this candle!! It was a birthday gift from my sweet neighbor, Amy :)

celebratin' 32 years :)

Another year has flown by & another birthday has come & gone..
it's hard to believe that next year we'll have a 7 month old to help us celebrate!
I am so blessed to have this lil' miracle growing inside me & becoming more eager with each day to meet our lil' angel :) Two weeks from today we will find out if the nursery will be PINK or blue...my "gut" feeling is PINK..as most of you already know :) ha!

...sorry, got a lil' sidetracked..back to the birthday happenin's..
Friday evening we celebrated with our parents at Heath's steakhouse. The food was delicious (as always)! We had a great time & left with very full bellies! After a quick trip to Wal-mart, we headed home. As we were unpacking groceries Matt casually hands me this box & tells me to see if there's anything in it. I honestly thought nothing of it & figured he wanted to trash it if there were no important papers in it. So, I jerked it open to find a brand new camera!! I was very surprised!! If he had wrapped it, I would have known immediately what it was from the size of the box, but I wasn't even expecting a gift until the next day...he got me good!! & I love this new camera!! It will get alot of use :)

Saturday morning rolled around & Matt & I both had to be up @ 5:00. He had to go to work & I had my first
Sat. morning BSF class of the year. I left feeling very overwhelmed, but I was told that's normal...(still doesn't change the fact that feeling overwhelmed & being pregnant do NOT mix well with me.) Once I had a breakdown & a nap I felt better..thanks Mama & Matt for listenin' :)

Saturday evening we had friends come over to hang out & go to the Jason Aldean concert! Some were friends we don't get to see very often, so it was great to catch up & hear all about what was new with everyone :) Once our limo, aka oversized pickup truck, arrived to take us to the concert, we were off! & 2.5 hours later, we were there! At this point, I was pretty much ready to call it a night...& so was my poor ol' bladder! Let me just say, I have been to MANY concerts in my 32 years...but never have I seen such a crowd! It was crazy!! (another lesson learned...being "with child" & in this kinda crowd also do NOT mix well for me!)

Two very important lessons learned this weekend....at least I'm learning them now rather than later!
So...we finally made it back home from garner, I went straight to bed & Sunday was much better!! I did a lil' shopping, did alot of relaxing, watched some football (not a good weekend for the Pack or the Panthers), & looked at some nursery ideas online...can't wait to start that project!!

Here's a few pics from our weekend..

Headed out!

the beginning of a long journey..

Jason Aldean is somewhere up there :)

It's lookin' like yet another busy week, so we'll just take it one day at a time & learn how to sometimes say, "no."
That's my new motto! ha!

Hope everyone has a great week! The forecast is showing a dramatic cool down towards the end of the week...this brings a great big smile to my face :))

our vacation :) 16 weeks & counting..

We were very thankful that Irene didn't cause any damage at Ocean Isle & we were able to enjoy almost an entire week of sun & sand!! The weather was perfect, the seas were calm & the crowds were gone :) Just how we like it!

It was a very lazy week for us all..but much needed! It's gonna be tough gettin' back to work tomorrow..
